NiceJob vs Birdeye vs GoHighLevel for reviews
All three will text your customer a Google review link after the job. The differences are price, contracts, and whether the tool also answers your phone and chases your estimates.

Which review tool should a contractor pick?
If you only want reviews and you want them cheap and simple, NiceJob Starter at $75 a month with no contract is the easy pick. If you have 5 or more locations and a marketing manager, Birdeye at roughly $299 to $349 per location on a 12-month term earns its price with listings and multi-location reporting. If you want reviews plus the phone answered, estimates followed up and old customers reactivated from one number, GoHighLevel at $97 a month includes review requests and costs less than NiceJob Pro.
What the three tools actually do
NiceJob is built for small service businesses. Starter ($75) sends SMS and email review requests, shows review widgets on your site, auto-posts reviews to social and runs a team leaderboard. Pro ($125) adds rebooking reminders, referral campaigns, email broadcasts, AI review replies, NPS surveys and competitor tracking. No contract, 14-day trial, and it connects to Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan.
Birdeye is enterprise reputation software. It does not publish prices; 2026 analyses put Starter around $299 per location, Growth around $349 and Dominate on quote, typically on a 12-month contract with an onboarding fee. You get review requests, monitoring, listings management, webchat, social tools, a messaging inbox and, higher up, AI and API access.
GoHighLevel is a CRM and phone system that happens to include review requests, a reputation dashboard, AI review replies and review widgets. Because it is also your phone line and automation builder, the review ask fires off the same event (invoice paid) that triggers everything else.

When NiceJob is the right pick
- You want one thing done well. Reviews, social proof, no contract, $75.
- Your field software is the hub. NiceJob’s native Jobber and Housecall Pro connections fire the review ask without any setup.
- You do not want an agency. Setup takes an afternoon.
When Birdeye is worth the price
- You have many locations. Listings sync across Google, Apple, Yelp and dozens of directories, plus location-level dashboards.
- A marketing manager owns reputation. Birdeye assumes someone is in it daily.
- Compliance and reporting matter. Franchise and healthcare-style reporting is mature.
When GoHighLevel is the better buy
- Reviews are one of three leaks. If calls go unanswered and estimates go unchased too, one tool at $97 beats three subscriptions.
- You want the ask timed to the invoice. BrightLocal’s 2026 survey: 83% of people asked leave a review. The ask has to go out, every time, and within hours of the job. GoHighLevel fires it from the paid-invoice event.
- You want to text the reviewer back. A reply to a review request lands in the same inbox the receptionist uses.
- You care about month to month. No annual lock-in.
What a year costs at 300 jobs a month
A Dallas plumbing company completes about 300 jobs a month and wants a review request on every one, plus replies to the reviews that come in.
| Line item | NiceJob Pro | Birdeye Growth (1 location) | GoHighLevel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platform | $125 × 12 = $1,500 | About $349 × 12 = $4,188 | $97 × 12 = $1,164 |
| Onboarding | $0 | Unpublished; assume $300–$500 | Agency setup, varies |
| Texts (3,600 review requests) | Included | Included | About $30 |
| AI review replies | Included (Pro) | Higher plans | Included |
| Phone answered, estimates chased | No | No | Add $97/mo AI bundle = $1,164 |
| Yearly total | $1,500 | About $4,500–$4,700 | About $1,200 (reviews) or $2,360 (reviews + AI receptionist) |
At 83% response among people asked and roughly 5 to 15% of those actually posting (BrightLocal and our own client data), 3,600 asks a year produce about 150 to 450 new Google reviews. Any of the three will get you there; the price for the same outcome runs from about $1,200 to $4,700.
Texas rules for review texts
A review request is a text to someone who just paid you, so it is customer communication, not a sales solicitation, and consent-based texting to existing customers is exempt from registration under the November 2025 settlement on Texas SB 140. Still send inside 9am to 9pm (noon to 9pm Sunday) and include your business name. Do not offer a discount for a review: the FTC’s 2024 fake-reviews rule bans conditional incentives and Google removes reviews it catches. Plumbers and electricians should include the licence number in the signature, which TDLR and TSBPE already require on advertising.
Questions owners ask
How much does NiceJob cost?
Starter is $75 a month and Pro $125 a month, no contract, 14-day trial. Annual prices are not listed. A managed website is a $99 a month add-on with a $199 setup fee.
How much does Birdeye cost?
Birdeye does not publish prices. 2026 analyses put Starter around $299 per location and Growth around $349, with Dominate on quote, usually on a 12-month contract with an onboarding fee.
Does GoHighLevel include review management?
Yes. Review requests by text and email, a reputation dashboard, AI replies and widgets are included in the $97 Starter plan.
Which integrates with Jobber or Housecall Pro?
NiceJob natively. Birdeye through its integration library. GoHighLevel through API and Zapier.
Can I get out of a Birdeye contract?
Reviewers commonly report 12-month auto-renewing terms that are hard to cancel. Read the agreement and diarise the renewal date.
Which one answers the phone?
Only GoHighLevel, with the $97 AI receptionist bundle. NiceJob and Birdeye are reputation tools.
How many reviews will I get?
Ask everyone. About 83% of people asked say they leave a review, and in practice 5 to 15% of asks become a posted Google review. At 300 jobs a month that is 15 to 45 new reviews.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. The FTC rule in effect since October 2024 bans incentives conditioned on a positive review, and Google removes reviews it detects as paid.
Is Birdeye overkill for a single-location contractor?
Usually yes. Its strengths are listings and multi-location reporting. A one-location shop pays for features it will not use.
Can I switch from NiceJob to GoHighLevel later?
Yes. Reviews live on Google, not in the tool, so nothing is lost. You rebuild the request flow and widgets in a day or two.
