Jobber vs GoHighLevel for contractors
They are not really rivals. Jobber schedules, quotes and invoices. GoHighLevel answers, texts and follows up. The real question is whether Jobber’s built-in automations are enough, or whether you need the second tool.

Do you need GoHighLevel if you have Jobber?
If you are a one or two person crew on Jobber Connect ($139 to $199 a month) and you mostly get repeat and referral work, Jobber’s automated quote follow-up plus the $29 AI Receptionist add-on is probably enough. If you buy leads, run ads, get more than about 100 calls a month, or want missed-call text-back, review requests and reactivation campaigns from one number, add GoHighLevel at $97 a month and connect the two. Most of our Texas clients run both.
What Jobber does and what GoHighLevel does
Jobber is job management: quotes, scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, payments and a client hub where customers approve quotes and pay. From the Connect plan up it sends automated quote and invoice follow-ups. Its AI Receptionist answers calls and texts, books into your Jobber calendar and is included on Plus or sold as a $29 a month add-on on other plans (usage limits apply). The Marketing Suite ($99 add-on, included on Plus) handles email campaigns and review requests.
GoHighLevel is the phone, text and follow-up layer. It gives you a business number, an AI receptionist with no cap on minutes at $97 a month, missed-call text-back, multi-day text sequences for estimates, review requests, database reactivation texts, a pipeline and a shared inbox. It does not do dispatching, invoicing or payments the way Jobber does.
Jobber vs GoHighLevel, feature by feature

| Monthly price (month to month) | Core $49 · Connect $139–$399 · Grow $199–$499 · Plus $499–$699 | Starter $97 · Unlimited $297 (agency plans; you usually pay your agency a flat fee) |
| Quotes, scheduling, invoicing, payments | Yes, core product | No (pipeline only) |

When you can skip GoHighLevel
- Low call volume. Under about 100 inbound calls a month, the $29 Jobber AI Receptionist with its usage cap is usually fine.
- Repeat and referral work. If 70% or more of your jobs come from past customers, Jobber’s quote follow-up and client hub do most of the chasing.
- One person runs the office. Fewer tools is a real benefit when the owner is also the dispatcher.
- You are on Plus anyway. Plus includes AI Receptionist and Marketing Suite, so the gap to GoHighLevel narrows.
When adding GoHighLevel pays
- You buy leads or run ads. Angi, Thumbtack, LSA and Facebook leads arrive by text and email and go cold in minutes. Blazeo’s 2026 data has 74% of businesses missing the five-minute window. Jobber does not text those leads back; GoHighLevel does.
- Calls spike by season. HVAC in July, roofing after hail, lawn care in March. Jobber’s AI Receptionist has usage limits; GoHighLevel’s unlimited plan does not care.
- You want reviews without thinking. BrightLocal’s 2026 survey says 83% of people asked leave a review. GoHighLevel sends the ask after the Jobber invoice is paid, automatically.
- You have a list of old customers doing nothing. A reactivation text campaign to 500 past customers typically books 10 to 25 jobs. That is GoHighLevel work.
What a month costs for a 3-person landscaping crew
A three-person landscaping company in Austin on Jobber Connect (5 users, $199 month to month) gets about 120 calls a month in spring and sends 60 quotes.
| Line item | Jobber only | Jobber + GoHighLevel |
|---|---|---|
| Jobber Connect (5 users) | $199 | $199 |
| AI receptionist | $29 add-on (usage limits; overage possible) | $97 unlimited in GHL (drop the Jobber add-on) |
| Review requests | Marketing Suite $99 | Included |
| Missed-call text-back and lead texting | Not available | Included |
| Phone minutes and texts (120 calls, ~400 texts) | Included in add-on up to cap | About $9 |
| Local number + A2P registration | Included | $1.15/mo + $24.50 one-off |
| Monthly total | About $327 | About $306 |
Once you want reviews and an AI receptionist, the two options cost about the same. The difference is what you get for it: unlimited answering, lead texting and reactivation on the GoHighLevel side. If you do not want reviews automated, Jobber alone at $228 is cheaper.
How we connect GoHighLevel to Jobber
Keep Jobber as the system of record
Jobs, quotes and invoices stay in Jobber. GoHighLevel never becomes a second place to look for a job.
Route the phone through GoHighLevel
Your number rings your phone first, then the AI receptionist. Bookings create a Jobber request with the call summary.
Trigger follow-up from Jobber events
Quote sent starts the day 1/3/7 texts. Invoice paid starts the review request. Both stop the moment the customer replies.
Load your old Jobber clients
Export, dedupe, and run a seasonal reactivation text inside Texas hours.
Texas notes
Whichever tool sends the text, Texas SB 140 (effective 1 September 2025) treats texts to prospects as telephone solicitation. Keep sends between 9am and 9pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 9pm Sunday. Follow-up to people who contacted you first is exempt from registration under the November 2025 settlement; keep that first contact on record. Texas is one-party consent for recording calls. Landscapers applying pesticides need a TDA licence and should show it on invoices; irrigators must include their LI number on ads, which includes text signatures.
Questions owners ask
Is GoHighLevel a replacement for Jobber?
No. GoHighLevel does not do dispatching, invoicing or payments the way Jobber does. It replaces your phone system and follow-up, not your job management.
Does Jobber have an AI receptionist?
Yes. It is included on Plus and sold as a $29 a month add-on on other plans, with usage limits and possible overage.
Does Jobber do automated quote follow-up?
Yes, from the Connect plan up. Core has no automations.
How much does GoHighLevel cost for a contractor?
$97 a month for the Starter agency plan or $297 for Unlimited, plus about $97 for unlimited AI and roughly 1 to 2 cents per call minute. Most contractors pay an agency a flat monthly fee that includes all of it.
Can GoHighLevel book jobs into Jobber?
Yes. The AI receptionist creates a Jobber request or calendar booking with the call summary attached.
Which one sends review requests?
Both can. In Jobber it needs the Marketing Suite ($99 add-on, included on Plus). In GoHighLevel it is included.
Which one texts Angi or Thumbtack leads back?
GoHighLevel. Jobber does not reply to lead-source texts automatically.
Do I need an agency to run GoHighLevel?
Not strictly, but most contractors do. Setup, A2P registration, scripts and Texas hours take a few weeks the first time.
Will I pay for two AI receptionists?
No. If you add GoHighLevel, drop the $29 Jobber add-on and let GoHighLevel answer.
What about Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan instead of Jobber?
Same logic. GoHighLevel sits in front of all three. See our Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan comparisons.
